Mixtape is a daily music crossword run by Greg Rashkevitch. This page lists what Mixtape stores about you and who else sees it.
What Mixtape stores
- From your Google account, when you sign in: your email address, your name, a link to your profile picture, and your Google account id. Mixtape asks Google for nothing else.
- The nickname Mixtape made up for you.
- Your result for each day's puzzle: points, marks, how many letters you revealed, and how long you took.
- Your progress on today's puzzle: the words you solved, the letters and words you revealed, and when you first opened the grid.
- If you turn on reminders, the push address your browser gives Mixtape for notifications.
- Two cookies: one keeps you signed in, and one protects the Google sign-in step.
Mixtape gets the letters you typed only when you fill a word or ask for a reveal. It checks them and keeps only the result of the check.
What other players see
Your nickname, your points, your time, and your row of marks. Never your name, email, picture, or Google account id.
Who else handles data
- Google signs you in.
- Vercel hosts the app, and Neon hosts its database.
- If you turn on reminders, your browser's push service (from Apple, Google, or Mozilla) delivers them.
- Song previews play from Deezer, so your browser connects to Deezer when you press ▶.
- TypeSafe's AI helps choose each puzzle's answers. It sees song, artist, and album names, never anything about players.
Vercel Web Analytics counts page views: which page, the site you came from, your rough location, and your browser and device type. It uses no cookies, and a visit isn't tied to you or your IP address.
There are no ads. Mixtape doesn't sell your data or share it with anyone else.
Deleting your data
Settings → Delete my data removes your account, your progress, your results, and your reminders right away.
